The DWE-5657RE-1 is a limited edition from the G-SHOCK 40th Anniversary REMASTER BLACK collection, paying homage to two iconic watches that sparked the G-SHOCK phenomenon in the 1990s — the DW-5600C and DW-5700C. An interchangeable bezel allows you to switch between both legendary designs in a single timepiece, faithfully maintaining the look of the originals while updating basic performance with Super Illuminator and five-year battery life. The all-black design is rich with commemorative details. Iconic G-SHOCK models from 1983 onward are hot-stamped into the band with a textural, indented effect inspired by stone monuments. A side button is engraved with a star marking the 40th anniversary, the Eric Haze-designed 40th anniversary logo is engraved on the case back and appears in silhouette when the LED is activated, and four stars for 40 are engraved on the band loop. The bezel and band use bio-based resins produced from renewable organic resources, and the eco-friendly packaging — shaped like the G in G-SHOCK — is made from recycled materials and bagasse (sugar cane fibre) printed with vegetable ink. At 58g with 200-meter water resistance, shock resistance, flash alert, and a 1/100-second chronograph, this is a collector’s piece built to be worn.
